The week of Thanksgiving, November 2009, Ava got sick. When she started feeling better, she got into her dress up box. A true Diva!

Ava is famous!
Sometime in Spring time 2009 we were at the Houston Children's Museum. There were a few employees taking pictures of children for their new website to promote the newly renovated tot spot. There were quite a few taken of Ava and one actually made it to the official website.

Thanksgiving 2009
We had a happy Turkey day this year! Spent the entire day with both families. Started the morning at Nana and Grandad's for a Thanksgiving lunch and then after Ava's nap we headed to Sloan and Elayne's for a Thanksgiving dinner.
Here is a picture of the Gilley clan
We have many things to be grateful for!

Hello Potty...
A few weeks ago, Ava came up to me one day and told me she wanted to wear big girl (Hello Kitty) panties and was done with diapers. I was so excited that she made my potty training experience painless. From that day on, she took it upon herself to use the potty. As a reward, she wanted a Hello Kitty stuffed animal like her friend Jenna. Granma and I set out to Build-a-Bear so Ava could celebrate this huge milestone.
She picked her 'bear' of choice, Hello Kitty, and stuffed her Hello Kitty. The end results!

Little Ladybug 2009
Ava wanted to be a Ladybug for Halloween this year. This was the first year she actually understood the concept of Halloween; getting and eating candy.
Before we left for her school party, she started signing me a song dressed in full costume.
On Halloween, we were invited to her friend Lucy Armbrister (Brooke and Cody) in addition to Chance and Campbell Voorhees (Emily and Derk). We had dinner at Brooke and Cody's before we set out to trick or treat at the street party.
